In THE GIRL FROM BERLIN, Catherine Lockhart and Liam Taggart are enlisted to help an elderly woman facing eviction from her Tuscan villa by a powerful corporation which mysteriously produces a deed allegedly superior to hers.  Their only clue is a bound handwritten manuscript, entirely in German.  Hidden in its pages is a story long-forgotten…

Ada Baumgarten, a gifted violinist and daughter of Berlin Philharmonic’ concertmaster, comes of age in interwar Berlin, during the waning years of the Weimar Republic and the emergence of the Nazi reign.  She forms a deep attachment to her childhood friend Kurt, one that reappears at critical moments of her life.  As the tides of history turn, it is her extraordinary talent that carries her through Berlin’s unraveling society and to war-time Bologna, but also unwittingly makes her a Nazi target.

What becomes of Ada and her family?  What is the connection to the Tuscan eviction?  As they dig through layers of lies, corruption, and human evil, Catherine and Liam uncover an unfinished story of heart, redemption, and hope—the ending of which is unwritten.
